On the east coast of the island, you’ll find some of  the island’s top beaches. Kallithea is a bustling cosmopolitan resort area. At Faliraki Beach, you will find anything from water sports activities, to restaurants, bars, shops. The Faliraki Water Park is the biggest one in Europe. Further down the coast beach lovers can relax on Afantou Beach’s sandy shores or take a beach break to enjoy a game of golf on a modern 18-hole golf course that is open year round and attracts golf enthusiasts from all over the world. The Anthony Quinn beach is one of the most popular on the island and features a miniature bay with refreshing emerald waters. The beach is named after the famous actor who bought this part of the island during the filming of The Guns of Navarone. For those who enjoy exploring head down to the southern part of the island to find Prasonisi, one of the most impressive beaches on the island and a heaven for surfers. During the summer, when the waters are low, the island becomes a peninsula attached to Rhodes. In winter, Prasonisi becomes an island of its own.

Night Life

Rhodes is famous for its buzzing nightlife. Inside the Old Town of Rhodes, lies the cobblestoned Street of the Knights, one of the best preserved medieval streets in Europe. On Orfanidi Street, visitors enjoy the nightlife choices from an array of hip and happening bars. Ixia is one of the popular resort areas with the reputation of having the best nightlife on the island. Here, you will enjoy some of the best sunsets with a cocktail, lounging around the pool. Faliraki is especially popular among younger crowds who come here to enjoy the famous nightlife and party until sunrise. The picturesque village of Lindos that overlooks the Acropolis is especially famous for its rooftop bars and restaurants.
